What is a Down Perm?

A down perm is a Korean men’s hair technique that uses a chemical perm solution to flatten and control side hair (and sometimes the back) so it doesn’t stick out.

It’s especially popular in Korean men’s hairstyles where clean, tight sides are important.

Who Needs It?

-  Men with thick or coarse hair
-  Hair that grows outward instead of downward
- Clients who want a clean two-block or undercut style
- Barbershop clients who complain “my sides puff up”

How It Works

1. Apply perm solution to side hair
2. Press hair down (using wrap paper or down-perm sticks)
3. Leave for 10–20 minutes (Do Not Put on Heat Cap or Hot Air)
4. Rinse 
5. Dry and style
